The lake is situated in the SCI Mont Avic and SPA Mont Avic and Mont Emilius, a large wilderness area located in the mountains of the municipalities of Champdepraz and Champorcher (Aosta). This lake, like others in Mont Avic Natural Park, is affected by the presence of introduced minnows. In the context of the project, minnows will be eradicated using non-chemical methods.
