Font de la Tosca is located inside the SCI Alt Pallars, in the central-eastern Pyrenees between the Aran Valley and Andorra. Font de la Tosca is a petrifying spring with tufa formation (habitat of Cratoneuron), another priority habitat. The springs of carbonated water forming tufa are scarcely represented in the Catalan Pyrenees. It is a site threatened by livestock overgrazing, eutrophication and by the presence of a rural road, which threatens this unique habitat by modifying natural water flow and tufa formation. The conservation actions will consist of the creation of an alternative path for tourists and the restoration of the bryophyte clumps.
