The lake system of Tres Estanys is located in the SCI Alt Pallars. This lake, as many others in the Pyrenees, has experienced minnow introductions with profound effects on biodiversity and trophic structure. In the context of the project we are conducting an experimental eradication of minnows with chemical methods, with the aim of improving its conservation status by recovering the natural oligotrophic conditions and allowing the establishment of new populations of amphibians such as Rana temporaria, Alytes obstetricans and Calotriton asper.
